III. Social Assistance Offices
with Employment Resource Centres
Toronto's Social Services have opened employment resource centres in many of their offices to service job ready social assistance customers seeking work. Many offices are highly visible near the waiting rooms. All offices have access to telephones, fax machines, photocopiers and a wide variety of resource materials. Offices reserve the right to limit an individual to a reasonable amount of use and long distance telephone and fax transmissions are not allowed. Common resource materials include career assessment and planning materials, job search strategies reference materials, interview skills resource information, Labour Market and Economic Information. Business directories are available and business plan development materials. Various CD Roms can help in career selection, understanding the workplace, or financial planning. It's a good place to find other more general community information. and view job notice boards for local job posting.
